Hey allemaal! Wij zijn Lisa Goossens, Maud Nyenhuis, Mirthe van Lieshout, Noor Wijma, Stef Bruins, Anna Kouwenberg en Sam Emans, en samen vormen we team Representation! Voor, tijdens en na onze reis naar Zuid-Afrika is het onze verantwoordelijkheid om de groep op een gezellige en sociale manier te vertegenwoordigen, zodat er op een laagdrempelige en toegankelijke manier gecommuniceerd kan worden.
Tijdens de reis gaan we verschillende plaatsen bezoeken, waaronder de township Kayamandi, verschillende universiteiten en een basisschool. Ons hoofddoel is de verschillen en overeenkomsten van studenten in ons vakgebied te ontdekken en te beseffen! We kijken er enorm naar uit om nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten en met hen samen te werken. Als team Representation willen we een goede eerste indruk maken in Kayamandi. Hiervoor hebben we verschillende activiteiten bedacht. We zullen presentaties gaan geven én een eigen magazine maken. In dit magazine stellen we ons voor, vertellen we over de Nederlandse cultuur en de sfeer op Fontys. Op deze manier hopen we dat de studenten op een leuke manier een beter beeld van ons krijgen, zodat het gemakkelijker wordt om met hen in gesprek te gaan.
Tijdens het bezoeken van verschillende universiteiten krijgen we de kans om in contact te komen met studenten met diverse achtergronden en culturen. Door in contact te komen met communicatiestudenten op deze universiteiten kunnen we onze kennis verbreden en een nieuwe kijk ontwikkelen op het brede communicatievak. Het is een geweldige kans om onze horizon te verbreden en hierbij uit onze comfortzones te stappen.
Een ander belangrijk onderdeel van onze reis is het bezoek aan de township Kayamandi. Daar krijgen we de mogelijkheid om de realiteit te begrijpen waarin mensen in een andere sociale en economische context leven. Het zal schokkend zijn om kennis te maken met de armoede waarin de bewoners van dit township leven. We hopen te kunnen helpen met het sponsorgeld dat we hebben ingezameld en door actief de handen uit de mouwen te steken.
Ook het bezoek aan de basisschool is een belangrijk onderdeel van ons leerproces. Hier gaan we in contact komen met jonge studenten en hen te inspireren om te streven naar educatieve en persoonlijke groei. We zullen interactieve workshops en activiteiten organiseren, waarbij de nadruk ligt op samenwerking. Door onze kennis en vaardigheden te delen, willen we niet alleen de kinderen ondersteunen, maar ook onze eigen pedagogische vaardigheden verder ontwikkelen.
Tenslotte willen we nog een dingetje kwijt. In ons team waarderen we de kracht van diversiteit en begrijpen we hoe belangrijk het is om van elkaar te leren. We zijn ervan overtuigd dat door samen te werken, culturen te verkennen en kennis te delen, we zowel als individuen en als team kunnen groeien. We kijken uit naar de uitdagingen en leermogelijkheden die voor ons liggen, en we zijn vastbesloten om het maximale uit deze ervaring te halen! ✨💪

Hii everyone!! We are Lisa, Maud, Mirthe, Noor, Stef, Anna, and Sam. Together we form Team Representation! Before, during, and after our trip to South Africa, it is our responsibility to represent our group in a friendly and social manner, so that communication can take place in an approachable and accessible manner.
During our journey in South Africa, we will be visiting various places, including the Kayamandi township, different universities, and an elementary school. Our main goal is to explore the similarities and differences among students in our field. We are looking forward to meeting and collaborating with new people. As Team Representation, we strive to make a positive first impression. We will be giving presentations and creating our own magazine. Through this magazine, we will introduce ourselves and share insights about typical Dutch culture and the atmosphere at Fontys University. Our aim with the magazine is to provide a better understanding of who we are and to make conversations with the students easier and more engaging.
Throughout our trip preparations, our focus primarily lies on visiting different universities. This gives us the opportunity to connect with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures. By engaging with communication students from different universities, we can expand our knowledge and gain fresh perspectives on our field. It is an amazing chance to broaden our horizons and step outside of our comfort zones.
Another crucial aspect of our journey is the visit to Kayamandi township. This provides us with a unique opportunity to understand the reality of how people live in different social and economic contexts. It will be eye-opening to witness the poverty that residents of this township face every single day. This is why we hope to contribute by utilizing the sponsorship funds we have raised and to actively roll up our sleeves and get to work.
Visiting an elementary school is another important part of our learning process. We are excited to engage with young students and inspire them to strive for educational and personal growth. We will organize interactive workshops and activities, placing a strong emphasis on collaboration. By sharing our knowledge and skills, we aim to support not only the children but also enhance our own pedagogical abilities. In our team, we value the strength of diversity and understand the importance of learning from one another. We firmly believe that through collaboration, cultural exploration, and knowledge sharing, we can grow both as individuals and as a team.
